What happens in Hadházi street summer camps?

In the life of our language school, we regularly organize thematic programs and special lessons, which enrich our everyday lives. When preparing for such an event, we also immerse ourselves in the tasks, but with the arrival of spring, we are enriched with new ideas and extra motivation... Because this is when we start organizing our favorite program: the summer camps. We are already burning with camp fever, figuring out the topics and organizing the programs.

In contrast to the usual afternoon classes during the school year, camping is a completely different experience, since we are with the children from the morning. During the year, we meet our beloved little students once a week, so it's a good feeling for us too, when we play together, speak English, talk together for 5 days and see their daily development, habits and get to know their little personalities better.

But what happens during a camp week?

Early in the morning on Monday, we are sitting on our pins and needles waiting for the first student to arrive. Each female teacher gathers her group and after a little getting to know each other, we take possession of the yard. The children are still a little shy, but still excited to open the camp week with a big joint dance. Many are already familiar with the terrain and are happy to throw themselves into the self-indulgent game with their little friends, but new children are also welcomed with great love and immediately make new friends. The groups are formed depending on age, approximately 8-10 children of a similar age are assigned to a teacher. All groups are related to the same camp topic, but the curriculum is always adapted to the age groups and their age characteristics.

In this year's camp, we will introduce new habits. During the past years, we held the English lessons in the morning, but this year the whole day will be in English. The teaching staff is extremely colorful, as several foreign teachers have joined us, so we only communicate with them in English. There is no reason to worry, as the Hungarian teachers are always with the children, they understand everything and help them at any time. Perhaps the most important element of the Helen Doron method is the provision of an English-speaking environment, which we can guarantee with full-day English during our camp.

In this way, for five days, the children will be surrounded by the English language and the thematic vocabulary, in addition to expressions, they will also get to know the structures used every day.

During the English sessions - in addition to learning words, doing tasks, singing, dancing, etc. - crafts, DIY and lots of games await the campers. We plan a special program for each day, so depending on whether it takes place in the morning or in the afternoon, we adjust the English-language curriculum sessions. At such times, everyone is used to being with their own small group, with their teacher in their own room. During breaks between classes, we used to let off steam in the yard. After lunch, the preschoolers have a little quiet rest, while the elementary school children go to the external program.

In this season, we will be camping for 3 weeks and we will follow different themes. For the little ones, you can join our Nature-Adventure camp or the dance camp, which we organize with the help of the Feeling Dance Studio, where dance and movement will play the main role. We organize programs related to the theme of the camps for the children, both at our language school and at external locations.

During the week, the work of the teachers is supported by the assistants who are with us throughout the week, who, for example, help out during meals, or hold the children's hands and look after them while standing in line, on the tram, or in the zoo.

We are planning exciting adventures this year as well, as animal shows, zoos, picnics, forest baths, and adventure tours await the enthusiastic students. One of our basic principles at Helen Doron is to educate children about a conscious lifestyle, animal and environmental protection - all in English. In our nature and adventure camp, we will learn about different plants, insects, bugs, animals, and the world around us. Focusing not only on English vocabulary, but also on the use of complete sentences.

In addition to the daily dance rehearsals, our dancers take part in costume making, rhythm and movement development, creativity, and a week-ending Who Knows? In addition to the body parts, movements, and colors that belong to the basic English vocabulary, the correct, healthy lifestyle and the world of arts are in the center.

Homely, familiar, playful, exciting - just a few words to describe our camp. But perhaps the most important thing: in whichever camp the child comes to us, he will acquire useful knowledge of English in a loving and safe environment.
